General NDIS Questions
Common questions about the NDIS and how it works
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia's national scheme that provides funding to eligible people based on their individual needs. It provides participants with more choice and control over how, when and where their supports are provided.
To be eligible for the NDIS, you must: be under 65 years of age when you first apply, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa or Protected Special Category visa, live in Australia, and have a permanent and significant disability that substantially impacts your ability to complete everyday activities.

Funding and Payments
Information about NDIS funding and payment processes
NDIS funding can be managed in different ways: self-managed, plan-managed, or NDIA-managed. Each option offers different levels of control and responsibility over your funding and how you pay for supports.
If you're concerned about running out of funding, contact your NDIS Local Area Coordinator or Support Coordinator. They can help review your plan and discuss options for plan reviews if your circumstances have changed.
