Wheelchair taxi or supported transport?

Questions about accessible transport
Is this a wheelchair taxi?
No. Mamba is a pre-booked support service, not an on-demand taxi. A trained support worker drives the ramp-access van, you travel in your own wheelchair, and they can help at your destination in the way you agreed. We do not accept Taxi User Subsidy Scheme (TUSS) vouchers.
When might a wheelchair taxi be enough?
For a straight A-to-B trip where you do not need help before leaving or at the destination, a transport-only service may suit you. We will say so when the additional support is not needed.
Do I stay in my wheelchair?
Yes. You board and travel in your own wheelchair via the ramp, secured using the vehicle's restraint and specialised seatbelt system.
Can a family member or carer come too?
Yes. There is room for a companion. Tell us who is travelling so seating can be confirmed.
Can NDIS funding be used for transport?
That depends on your plan, goals, available budget, plan management and the support delivered. We explain the proposed items and charges before you agree.
How much notice do you need?
We ask for 24 hours where possible. For shorter notice, contact us and we will confirm whether the van and a suitable support worker are available.
Next step
Tell us where you need to be.
Use the form or call 0449 922 665. We will explain whether the accessible van and supported-trip model fit what you need.
